How are annual meeting dates chosen?

Annual meeting dates are negotiated with each hotel, generally for a Thursday-Sunday period in late March or early April.

By board policy, the Annual Meeting occurs in the spring of each year, generally in late March or early April. Generally, when in Chicago, the meeting is scheduled Wednesday through Saturday and held on Easter weekend in order to maximize discounts. However, the annual meeting dates may not conflict with the first two Seders of Passover nor with Easter Sunday. Other years' meetings are to be scheduled on Thursday through Sunday on non- Easter weekends, in order to maximize use of less expensive Sunday travel rates. Recommended meeting locations are brought to the board by the Annual Meeting Committee. The board selects sites by a majority vote.
